Why not Coop?

ROOST Coop is excellent infrastructure for teams that can operate Postgres + Scylla + ClickHouse + Redis. Sieve is the opposite bet: one Compose file, SQLite by default, local detectors out of the box, and a bilingual admin console. We aim to be a complement — detector plugins should be publishable as Coop signals later — not a hostile fork.

Safety notes

Sieve never ships, collects, or downloads CSAM or real abusive media. The hma_hash plugin is an interface for authorized hash-matching services and only compares against fake test hashes in this repository. Restrictive-license models (Llama Guard, ShieldGemma, NudeNet AGPL) are documented as optional out-of-tree plugins — not bundled in the core image.
